The Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory (PHL) is a video research lab located in Hollywood, the movie capital of the world. It builds on the more than 15 years that Panasonic has worked to meet the lofty demands of Hollywood film professionals, by conducting on-site research into technologies such as digital conversion for film-based movies, compressing DVD images, authoring, and digital cinema. In these and other areas, PHL is conducting a wide range of research and development activities. From this solid foundation, we have our aim firmly set on achieving even higher-quality images.
PHL smoothly combines Panasonic's cutting-edge digital technologies with the sensitivity of directors and colorists who produce images of the highest quality worldwide.
Directors and film crews use a wealth of techniques to create the unique worlds that appear in their movies. Panasonic's image compression technologies, which compress these virtual worlds into digital media, and the Panasonic engineers who use this technology, have received exceptionally high acclaim in Hollywood. PHL has a long track record of converting movies into DVD media.
As part of Blu-ray standardization efforts, PHL has played an essential role in developing high-definition encoding (compression and recording) technologies jointly with studio engineers while actively meeting the needs of filmmakers.
Backed by the achievements, expertise, praise and trusting relationships gained by working with film professionals, the Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory continues to produce image content that maximizes Blu-ray potential, and actively studies new areas of image-making for the future. 作者: hero2 時間: 2011-6-30 11:23
